Mini Henley-on-Todd
The Henley on Todd is a 'boat' race like no other; where teams compete in the dry river bed of the Todd River in Alice Springs, ala Flinstones-style. Fun. quirky and iconic, the event is a Central Australia must-see that has been running since 1962.
Bask Event Management was contacted to help run the Henley on Todd with only six weeks to go until event day, after negotiations with the original event manager stalled.
The event normally takes 10 months to plan but we thought we'd give it a red hot crack. Some elements of the event plan were done, other aspects were dropped in the interests of time. We worked with the Committee to do the rest - procure additional equipment and machinery, attain the remaining approvals and permits, identify food vendors, recruit volunteers and convert the greenfields site into a sporting arena.
Weeks of working long days finally paid off and we delivered a mini Henley on Todd!
